
Here’s a second Japanese saw making video from http://web.mac.com/nami_aru/Daiku/いらっしゃい.html. This saw making video is a bit more involved than the previous one.
Again, I don’t speak Japanese, and I don’t have a translation of the audio, but from the narration at 1:30 it sounds like this saw is being made from tamahagane, which is a very high quality high carbon steel whose manufacturing process goes back centuries.
